Character Name: Jennifer "JJ" Jareau

Appearance: Young,stylish, blond hair, blue-eyed all-American athletic young woman; approximately 30 years old

Personality: Energetic, serious, strong, compassionate, comtemplative, can be playful and a little snarky

Other: Has a infant son named Henry, boyfriend Will, is very close to all the members of the team especially Penelope Garcia and Spencer Reid. JJ is the glue that holds the team together. JJ is so much more that just the BAU Press Liaison; in addition to handling the press, she decides which cases to present to the team, is the coordinator between the team and local law enforcement officials, and often comforts the victims and/or their families.

Writing Sample: JJ decided to cut her maternity leave 3 weeks short. As much as she loves her son and being with him, this nightmare she calls her job would not let her stay away any longer. She told herself that it would be easier on Henry if she stole away while he was still sleeping but the truth was, it was easier on her. So she left the house early this morning stopping only to give him a gentle kiss on his little blond head, go over his schedule once again with Will, and kiss Will goodbye. Grabbing her ever present cup of coffee, her ready bag, and her car keys, she headed to the only place that would have ever pulled her away from her family. She headed to her other family, the ones that she had worked with so hard to end the nightmares; nightmares that were actual living, breathing entities in this world. She was ready to roll up her sleeves and dive back into the abyss.

Character Name: SSA Emily Prentiss

Appearance: Black or dark brown shoulder-length hair, light eyes and skin, making her makeup pop. Tall and comfortable with her appearance, early to mid thirties in age.

Personality: Overcompensates because even after a year of working with the BAU still worries about maybe not being one of their own, on the job she's serious and calculating, but given the chance can be less analytical and can be caring and materal towards others. There are times when she disagrees with others and doesn't hesitate to let the other know -- leading people to think she can be unnessicarily defiant of authority figures; she always does what she feels is the right thing.

Other: In the episode titled, Omnivore (I'm fairly certain that was the name) it is revealed that Emily was once pregnant in Italy... but that's all the 'other' I can think of.

Writing Sample: Emily sits down at her desk in the bullpen with a loud sigh, setting her ready bag down next to her feet. She slumps in her chair, closing her eyess for a moment before staring at her pile of paperwork with utter disdain, eyeing Morgan as he had undoubtedly added a file or two to her tower. She always hated cases involving children; they open the old wounds from Italy, what she might have had, what she might have to fear. After glancing around the silent room that could only have been equivalent with backfired jet sleep, the skritching of pens and the flipping of papers filling the silent void, looking at each person idividually. Reid working diligently as ever, flipping and writing at an inhuman speed; Morgan progressing slowly and reluctantly, pressing the pen harshly on the paper; looking at the back of the room to JJ, going though a stack of papers eighty times the height of Emily's; Hotch, talking to someone on the phone, as always; and Rossi? Asleep at the desk, his files left completely untouched. Well, she figures, with a smile, I may as well get this done.
